Abstract:
The main purpose of this work is to analyze convergence or divergence phenomena of labor productivity within the industries of Colombian regions as a result of the economy’s degree of openness in the period 1967-1998. To comply with the above, the econometric technique of panel data is used. The results show that Colombia seems to be a case in wich a clear convergence process, conditioned to the economy’s degree of openness, has happened.
