Abstract:
The purpose of this document is to investigate the determinants of the intra-regional multilocation of manufacturing export firms in 2007. For this goal, a dataset at the level of the firm is used from Proexport and Superintendencia de Sociedades databases, which estimates a bivariate logit model that allows us to find the characteristics of manufacturing export firms that decide to be located in more than one place in the national territory. The empirical results show that the export firms with a bigger probability of multilocation in Colombia are those firms that are big, are not capital-intensive, have high sales, and high leverage.
