Abstract:
There is a fairly direct correlation, in modern times at least, between those nations which are rich and powerful and those nations which have available to tbem an abimdant supply of mineral raw materials. This is true for America, for tbe countries" of northwest Europe, and more recently for Russia, whose rapid industrialization would not have been possible without rich mineral resources.
