Meta-Economic Backgrounds Of Economic Fluctuations
F.J. Etan
Economics and Finance in Indonesia, 1960, vol. 11, 353-362
Abstract:
On one of the sessions of the Royal Society many decades back, the scholars then taking part were — as a kind of relaxation after the day's intensive discussions — invited to tell each something witty. A Scandinavian scholar said then: the broader the field a scholar studies, the smaller his knowledge. Ergo: a universal scholar is a man who knows nothing about everything; buj a specialist knows everything about nothing.
