Abstract: This document is a report on a brief trip in Central Java in the context of work with which the writer was charged by the P.7 B Committee and its Advisory body at the instruction of the Foodstuffs Council. The report covers only the organisation and the administrative and financial procedures of the government purchasing of rice, and thus constitutes only a part of the task instructed by the Foodstuffs Council. The otlier aspects were exaiiiiued by other bodies (the Agricultural Faculty of Bogor, Agricultural Department), which also obtained duties from the B.7 B. Committee and its Advisory Body. This report, therefore, oannot be considered to Stand on its own, but shot .Id be regarded as merely one part of the report to the Advisory Body of the P.7 B. Committee.
