Abstract:
The Pacific area has become a focus of attention in tbe ligbt of current political, economic and military developments. Tbe concept of tbe "Pacific Rasin" as an economic framework bas been tbe subject of intensive deliberation among and between prominent business groups, research organizations and government circles. It relates primarily to possible arrangements for a regional grouping with the developed part of the countries in and around the Pacific as its nucleus, viz. Japan, Canada, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
