Abstract: One of the most iniportanl feiiluies of the Indonesian economy is the large role played by trade, especially inter-island trade. This is hecause Indonesia is comprised of so many islands with different physical and climatic conditions and because of the differences in the population density. These regional differences have in the past resulted in regional specialization it the production of agricultural commodities.
