Abstract: Elsewhere the history of the formation of the Indonesian Regional Income Research Group has been documented without discussion of concepts or meihodologics. Once the growth was formed it soon got down to the practical task of income estimation at the regional level and had. thus, to cope with conceptual and methodological issues that mostly loomed larger there than at the national level.
