Abstract: In this speech given at the Army Staff and Command School in Bandung the author gives an outline of Trade Policy, aimed at the creation of a dynamic foreign trade sector which can function as a leading sector in the economy toward the attainment of overall rapid economic development. Planning in the Trade sector should de directed towards three broad objectives: first, to expand the volume of trade, second, to stabilize the growth of revenues from trade, and third, to maximize the "spread effect" of the expanding trade sector.
