Abstract:
In 1971, the province of Central Sulawesi ranked second lowest in terms of gross regional domestic product among other provinces in Indonesia. In that year the population density of this province was only about 10 km. It is usually maintained that the low ratio between population and the total area of Central Sulawesi is the main cause of the low income level in this province.
