Abstract: This paper attempts to throw some light on the complex but important issue of Indonesia's trend in unemployment. Much- of the analysis in this paper is concerned with answering the following questions: Did the unemployment rate in the 1961-71 period really increase or not ? What is the probable trend in unemployment during the 1971-75 period?
