Tobing Lml
Economics and Finance in Indonesia, 1979, vol. 27, 175-209
Abstract:
There are at present four kinds of petroleum fuels that are being subsidized by the Government and these are kerosene, automotive diesel oil (ADO), industrial diesel oil (IDO), and fuel oils. The article analyses the government's reasons for extending the subsidy, the effects desired and further analyses which sectors of the economy and which segments of the population benefit from the subsidy scheme and which don't. The author concludes that in several instances the subsidy scheme has been off target and suggests alternate measures.
