Abstract: The following two articles presented by, respectively, Syahruddin and Boediono, are a dialogue between the two regarding the latter's article on "A Quarterly Macro Model for Indonesia," which was put out in EKI of September 1979. Syahruddin put forward some of the problems raised by Boedinono's exercise, firstly, with regard to the properness of the econcmetric methodology used in the formulation of the model; and, secondly with regard to the consumption and production functions used in the exercise. In particular, Syahruddin observes that the model is not supported by either a sound theoretical or econometric base. Lastly, he also doubts the properness of using a linear analysis for the quarterly data, as it tends to neglect the seasonal pattern of the variables observed.
