Suatu Skema untuk Membantu Harga Produsen: Suatu Kasus Mengenai Beras di Indonesia

Ismet Achmad

Economics and Finance in Indonesia, 1981, vol. 29, 149-160

Abstract: Price-stability and atractiveness seem to have been inadequate in order to encourage rice farmers to produce more in Indonesia. A Buffering scheme is aimed at achieving them and is estimated based on growth and variability of annual output and distribution of harvest over the year. The scheme is designed for South Kalimantan provice at various altern tives on price elasticity of demand, permitted price change, and the level of assurance. It ranges from 35,315 to 128,913 tons for 1979, from 36,989 to 135,023 tons for 1980, and from 38,742 to 141,424 tons unmlled rice for 1981, as we vary the elasticity of demand from -0.1 to —0.3, the price change from 5 to 15 percent, and the level of assurance from 67 to 95 percent. Two stock points are chosen; the first is to absorb the excess supply in mid-August through the end of September, and the other from June to August.
