Abstract:
To understand and to solve the labor problems in Indonesia, the author emphasizes the necessity of researches in the context of the following five frameworks, production function, investment, labor supply, labor market and income distribution. Within the frameworks he points out the questions concerning to the relation between technologies and demands for the labor, to qualities of labor to raise production, and to the cost of labor compared with that of capital in iow wage countries. He suggests the importance of investments for the human capitals, so that good qualities of labors can bring better productivity as well as better conditions of labors. Futhermore, he points the necessity of good and adequate information systems to understand the.conditions of labor markets.
