Penerapan Model Transportasi untuk Pengalokasian Route Bis Yang Optimal

Leony Elimin and Wahjudi Prakarsa Benjamin

Economics and Finance in Indonesia, 1983, vol. 31, 185-196

Abstract: The transportation or distributor problem is a special class of linear programming problems. This problem exists in a situation where a given product is to be distributed from several sources to several destinations. The objective is to minimize the total shipping cost by selecting the optimal shipping pattern. This paper attempts to apply the transportation model to solve the assignment problems of 765 buses owned by PN PPD from several pools to several route terminals. The objective, of course, is to minimize the total vehicle expenses associated with the round trips between those two transportation points. Subject to several constraints, this study, among others, concludes that the use of this optimization model would save more than 50 millions rupiahs annually.
