Abstract:
There were issues highiighted in the iastfew months and have become nation wide discussions invoiving so many interests in the society such as how nonoil export should have performed in a better way, the effect of Tax Law 1984, the partial liberalization of monetary sector since June 1984, the decline of investment environment especiaily those related to foreign investment activities and the recent one was the nation wide campaign on the advancement of domestic product, etc. This paper is not an exception in its nature. Using Keynesian macroeconomics principles, the writer attempts to analyze and find out the answer on: what, how and why of the problems earlier stated mainly from the theoretical point of view, while not getting involved in the issues regarding the question on which are more effective to be applied in the Indonesian economy between Keynesian or Friedmannite as discussed thoroughly by Prof. Amdt in this magazine few years back. In doing so, a simple and dynamic macro model was formulated, in which the stastistical analysis was carried out in three consecutive periods i.e. Pelita 1 (1969-1974), Pelita 1-11 (1969-1979) and Pelita 1-111 (1969-1983), in attemps to get clearer picture on how the macro variables were performing during the period in observation.
