Abstract: The increasing share of service sector in GDP and employment creation indicate its important role in the economy. Based on the assumption of employment is a derived demand of goods and services, the author stated that the rate of growth of employment opportunity is a function of the rate of growth of GDP. He suggests a method of adjustment to estimate the elasticity of employment opportunity by considering technical progress and investment.
