Abstract: We are glad our paper has enthusied Kameo and Rietveld (KR) to look further into the question of regional income disparity in Indonesia. Essentially they have raised two issues: a) that the results of our research do not warrant the conclusion that the regional income inequality shows a declining trend and b) tbat tbe quality of tbe GRDP data is questionable for estimating tbe degree of regional inequality and we should use an alternative indicator of economic well-being of regions: regional personal expenditure, for tbis purpose.
