Abstract:
In this paper the author asks whether or not schooling level influence the duration of unemployment and the unemployment probability. Job search frameworks are used to verify this hypothesis. Although the empirical analysis using Indonesiai: National Labor Survey data shows that individual characteristics are not enough to explain the variation in the unemployment duration, the author foutid that the level of schooling significantly affects the length of the search. In general his estimation results explain why senior high graduates have the highest unemployment rate.
