Abstract: Dennison (1967) studied the sources of postwar growth in nine Western countries by emphasizing the contribution of changes in inputs (such as labor, capital, and land) to the changes in output per unit input. Ellas (1978) analyzed the sources of economic growth in Latin America? Countries by using an approach as developed by Jorgenson and Griliches. in which he considered the basic relation in national income components i.e. the relation between consumption and investment as key-element in the production function. Similarly, Nishimizu and Hulten (1978) applier Hicks-Neutral constant returns production function to analyze the sources of Japanese economic growth from 1955 to 1971. In the case of Indonesia, for the time being, the methods mentioned above are not available to apply due to of the lack of capital data. Chenery (1980), Feldman, Mclain and Palmer (1987) analyzed the sources o sectoral output growth by using input-output analysis. Their method suggests that industry output level can change either because of the changi: in the final demands (domestic demands and exports), the change iit technical coefficients, and import substitution industry. The autho decides to use their method because Indonesian input-output published fo the years of 1971, 1975, 1980, and 1985 has already been published.
