Abstract:
The key to dealing with the issue of a decrease in returns on gross investment at the national level is continued macroeconomic stability, plus policy changes to improve efficiency. Continued macroeconomic stability means creating balanced sectoral growth. Policies to improve efficiency can be achieved in three ways, (a) improving the investment allocation for supporting the balanced sectoral growth, (b) continued deregulation of the real goods sector to encourage continuation of new investment, and (c) improving the contribution of the technology to growth.
