Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyze the origin and conceptualization of “multilatinas†and some particular features, for which it is conducted a review of the literature related to the conceptualization of these topics. Next, it is presented the historical development of the internationalization process in Latin America, some particular features of emerging multinationals and “multilatinas†. Likewise, it is presented some particular features of state “multilatinas†and non-traditional “multilatinas†. Finally, it is presented some conclusions and some gaps in the literature.
