Abstract: Competition plays a very important role at European and international level and legislative initiatives aimed at leading to the most competitive competition authorities are becoming more and more visible. We welcome in this respect the new European Directive to empower the competition authorities of the Member States to be more effective enforcers and to ensure the proper functioning of the internal market.
