Abstract: Published by Lumen Publishing House from Iași, Romania, in 2016 and included in the Social Development book series, the volume ”Etică și dezvoltare comunitară” [Ethics and community development], authored by Ana Caras (Frunză) addresses those who are active in the social and humanistic field or who are interested in the specific approach of social anthropology regarding community development in the context of the active and responsible involvement of community members. In its second edition, the paper brings into debate an important issue, that of the synergy between the community and its members, the role of individual involvement in the development of the community from an economic, social, cultural point of view and the social role of the individual.
