Abstract: The article ” Decision - The esential function of management” presents the role of decision in educational management, how to reach a decision and how to take/make a decision. The first chapter presents the definitions and characteristics of decision showing great interest on the main characteristics of the process of decision. The second chapter presents the types of decisions. The third chapter points the steps of taking a decision: preparation, adoptation, application and concludes with the results of its achievement. In the last chapter there are presented the methods and techniques for taking the right decisions to solve the educational problems and difficulties.
