Abstract: In Romania, the legislation regarding the economic-financial crime of money laundering has undergone numerous changes from the moment of its entry into force until now. At a considerable distance from the time of the fall of the communist regime in Romania, but in the immediate proximity of Romania's integration into the European Union, the Romanian legislator regulated the crime of money laundering by Law no. 656/2002 for the prevention and sanctioning of money laundering, as well as for instituting measures to prevent and combat the financing of terrorist acts.
