Abstract:
The paper presents the Polish legislation rules on conflict of laws aspects regarding the formal conditions of the juridical act. On the 1st of July 1966 entered into force in Poland the Private International Law Act (PIL) of 12 November 1965. The European Convention on the law applicable to contractual obligations of 19 June 1980 (Rome Convention) entered into force in Poland on the 1st of August 2007 and has been applied until 17 December 2007, when it was replaced by the Regulation (EC) no. 593/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 June 2008 on the law applicable to contractual obligations (Rome I). At the present time, in Poland, Rome I applies only to its scope, in precedence over the PIL that regulates the situations not covered by Rome I.
