Abstract:
More than a decade Moldova's energy sector requires restructuring in strategic terms from existing energy resources, almost total dependence on imports to consumption and infrastructure. Likewise, in the recent years, it is more and more appreciable the use of biomass as energy source in Moldova whose outcomes could have a twofold impact (positive and negative). Thus, in this paper authors will present at a glance Moldovan energy sector and will shed light on new trends of energy production from biomass by highlighting the opportunities and exhibiting the threats it implies. In addition, authors will make a foray into the successful experiences of some European and non-European countries and in an innovative manner they will try adapting these experiences to the realities of the Republic of Moldova. Finally, the main expectation of the research is to formulate a new Energy Vision for the next decade.
