Abstract: The debate about the “4-day week” has increased and now occupies a large part of company, economic and labour policy discussions. It is noticeable that various working time models are being discussed under the term “4-day week”, in which the weekly working time is spread over four days instead of five, or the weekly working time is reduced, and employees therefore work one day less per week. The aim of this article is to inform readers about the challenges and fields of action relating to the “4-day week” and to provide arguments and approaches for objectifying the discussions within and outside the company.
