Chinese Economy, 1981, vol. 15, issue 2, 4-36

Abstract: This issue of >u>Chinese Economic Studies>/u> contains sixteen articles translated from China's newspapers and journals about China's cropping systems. Normally one might think that the questions of what crops to grow and in what sequence to plant them would be fairly narrow, simple questions, of interest only to agronomists and discussed in agricultural journals. In fact, however, the most important newspapers in China published numerous articles throughout 1979 about these questions.
