The Problem of Export Strategy

Zou Siyi

Chinese Economy, 1983, vol. 16, issue 3, 10-23

Abstract: We advocate decentralized management under unified leadership. In foreign trade, we must uphold the principle of dealing with foreign countries in a unified manner. Herein lies the superiority of the socialist system that no capitalist country can emulate. We must have a comprehensive export strategy on foreign trade. Long-term plans of five to ten years should be drawn up for the country, the province, the autonomous region, the municipality, and the enterprise that engages in foreign trade. Without a strategy, the best tactics will be to no avail. Export strategy includes commodity strategy, market strategy, and sales strategy.
