Abstract:
The structural reform of China's rural economy, with the institution of the production responsibility system as its focus, has been underway for more than four years. Practice has shown that the responsibility contracting system of combined production has the highest adaptability and has brought about very good economic results. The overall contract, with the household as the basic unit is especially well-received among the peasants. Some comrades raise the question of whether such a form is in keeping with the socialist principle and is consistent with the goal of modernizing China's agriculture. Based on our practical experience over the last few years, we can now clearly and definitely answer this issue.
