Measures to Counteract the Impact of China's Entry into the WTO on Trade Union Work

Zhang Guoxian

Chinese Economy, 2001, vol. 34, issue 5, 54-70

Abstract: China's joining the World Trade Organization (WTO) is an important step for the Chinese economy as it moves into the world at large. Joining the WTO will bring about a lasting and profound impact on all spheres of our economy and society; the work of trade unions is, and will be, no exception. After China joins the WTO, the Chinese trade union will face unprecedented direct international impact, and new challenges will confront its work, both internationally and at home.
