Chinese Economy, 1974, vol. 7, issue 3, 3-5

Abstract: The fifteen articles in this issue are selected from official publications of the People's Republic of China for the period July 1 through September 30, 1973. Each article is selected on the basis of its representativeness of either the trend of economic development in China or its policy orientation. One of the measures of representativeness is the frequency of appearance of a subject in the press; another is its representativeness of the underlying stresses of Party lines or government policies. The selection, however, is not random; therefore it should not be used for statistical inference.
