Abstract:
The stumbling start of the welfare state in the United States, along with the end of WWII, spawned the modern era of U.S. think tanks, but the onset of neoliberalism provided the fertilizer. This research examines the nature and growth of think tanks in the United States under neoliberalism. In order to counter the hegemonic grip of neoliberal ideology on our social, cultural, and political institutions we must examine the influence and invasion of these neoliberal institutions into civil society and day-to-day living.
