Abstract:
During this period (1974-80) the basic framework of international politics remained the same as in the previous period. The cold war between the free-world nations and the Communist-bloc nations continued, although it seemed that both the Soviet Union and Communist China attempted to ease tensions with the United States, while the relationship between Russia and China continued to be strained.
