Abstract: The aim of this study is to investigate and discuss the importance of the creative class as a significant factor affecting innovation in geographical regions, and to promote the idea of the creative class and its impact at the level of regional innovation. The empirical material was collected and analysed on the basis of data gathered by the Central Statistical Office for years 2009–2013. The data relates to the number of dynamically operating business entities classified as belonging to the creative class. Research results reveal that geographical regions with bigger share of business entities belonging to the creative class show significantly higher level of innovation than regions with lower share of such entities.
