Abstract: The objective of the article is to examine the degree to which national culture and/or the business sector are influencing factors in organization culture change. Furthermore, this paper aims to determine whether the strengths of these factors differ in two national cultures. The subsequent hypothesis was tested on a sample of mainly Northern-Hungarian and Transylvanian Romanian organizations to establish whether there was a basis for conducting further research. If our hypothesis is correct, significant culture change is under way in the region. The study analyzes whether cultural changes took place differently in production, service and public organizations in the different transition economies
