Abstract: The primary goal of this paper is to summarise the main health forecasting methods of the WHO, the OECD and the European Union. The paper is divided into four sections. First, the main concepts are clarified, and then the methods, tools and techniques are explained. Finally, the EU health strategy 2008-2013 and the health policy responses to the financial crises of 2008-2009 are characterised.
