Abstract: The methodological approaches to strategy development for engineering companies using balanced scorecard are described in the article. The results are given of an analysis of strategic potential of modern Ukrainian machine-building enterprises. An indicator of the current state of the base potential and integral index of the potential of the enterprise forinnovative development is proposed that characterizes the use of the strategic potential of Ukrainian machine-building enterprises.
