Corruption Is a Problem of Political Theory and Practice

Abstract:
The present article is dedicated to the analysis of "corruption" from the viewpoint of political practice and theory. Hypotheses of the research is that corruption is not a recent phenomenon, it has been following humanity from ancient times causing great damages. The present article studies historical examples of corruption: corruption during the era of Alexander the Great, Carthage and the Roman Republic. The goal of the research is understanding of results of the corruption, e.g., the link between the deaths of great empires and corruption. The article gives the evolution of the term "corruption", pointing out current aspects of the term. The methodological ground of the present article represents the dialectic scientific method of the socio-political, legal and organizational processes with the principles of development, integrity, consistency, etc.
