Abstract:
Supply chain management (SCM) as a new business philosophy is a source of numerous advantages for the companies that are included in such a unique business chain network. Logistic management, as a part of SCM, on the other hand, represents a field with best opportunities for cost savings. The article defines the concept of SCM and distinguishes it from the logistic management. The author also explains the concept of clusters and cluster policy by analyzing their influence on SCM. Clusters are featured by accessibility of raw materials, presence of capital and manpower, scientific and technological equipment, as well as complete infrastructure necessary for successful SCM.
