Abstract: Public debt is one of the most important macroeconomic variables, and thus precise knowledge of its contents is especially important for the interpretation and analysis of economic developments. The objective of this methodological booklet is to present and illustrate the concepts related to public debt and its management, primarily via current Hungarian data and practices.
