La ricerca nel campo dell'Economia Industriale nelle università italiane

Gianluigi Alzona, Piercarlo Frigero and Augusto Ninni ()

L'industria, 2004, issue 4, 735-754

Abstract: Following last years' analysis on the teaching of industrial economics, sponsored by the Italian industrial economics and policy society (SIEPI), this study analyses the researches carried out by Italian scholars on topics related to industrial organization and applied economics. It points out the growing importance of international cooperation, and the role of projects organised at a national level as compared to locai ones. The main interest is always devoted to industrias studies, but there is a relevant change from information and communication technologies to public services, health and energy. According to Italian tradition great attention is paid to studies concerning small business and local districts, but they are often linked to globalization phenomena, and the intemationalization of the Italian system. Technological change and innovation analysis, at macroeconomic level, together with problems of financing fums' growth, are emerging as new fields of study fon the assessment of competitiveness and perspectives of growth in a macroeconomic context.
