Crisis, Theories, and Policies: The Courage to Change

Abstract: This paper aims to analyse at fist the main recent development of the global social and economic structures and values after the current economic crisis, and then the transformation of the European and Italian policies experienced from the Treaty of Rome. In fact, over the latest years the World is facing an extraordinary «epochal change», as underlined also by Pope Francis, that requires some new and effective rules to lead economies and societies to betteroff situations. A new approach is needed also to overcome the political and economic «failures » recorded in the European Union, where every single Member State appears to pursue its own interests to the detriment of the «European project». This is happening because of a set of rules and some political behaviours/lobby activities in contrast with the idea of Europe shaped after the Second War World. A new political and economic conscience should be defined to drive Europe and Italy toward a «new World» where economic, industrial growth, and social wellness can travel at the same speed.
