La Società Italiana degli Economisti compie 50 anni

Abstract: This note presents a review and a commentary of a recent book, edited by Alberto Quadrio Curzio, celebrating the first 50 years of history of the "Societa Italiana degli Economisti". The book presents a recollection of past presidents, annual congress and publications (Italian Economic Papers, Rivista Italiana degli Economisti) that have marked the history of the Society. The Society, to which belongs about 750 economists, has been for many years the centre of a rich and extensive debate in all the fields of the economic study; and nowadays the long tradition of scientific excellence is still maintained. For that reason the first 50 years of the Society provide a clear recommendation to look back at our history of study while looking forward to future economic analysis.
