Economia politica, 2008, issue 3, 423-440
Abstract:
This essay reviews China's rise in the world geo-economy over the past thirty years by focusing on three issues: the dynamics of a rapid expansion of China's trade, the latest development in China's foreign investment, including the most recent increase in its outward investment, and the policy challenges for China to contribute to a benign adjustment of the global imbalances while at the same time to redress its domestic imbalances.
