Abstract:
This article contains an assessment of the causes and consequences of the ongoing economic and financial crisis, and provides an analysis of the Obama administration's response to it. In so doing it discusses and compares different visions of the functioning of the economy, which influence economic policy decisions, and tries to provide a comprehensive approach to the policy challenges we currently face.
