Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to analyse how the economic literature has examined the relationships arising among education, democracy, and growth. First, we present a brief survey of the three strands of research which have analysed in a separated way, the relationship between education and growth, democracy and growth, and education and democracy. Second, we present a sketch of the model by Bourguignon and Verdier (2000), as an example of a promising field of research which aims to study in a simultaneous way, the relationship among education, growth, and democracy.
